RE: California Proposition 65 packaging

The “Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of California”, also known as California Proposition 65 (Prop 65), was enacted in 1986 with a goal to protect Californians from exposure to cancer-causing substances and reproductive toxicants. Over the last 3 decades, the list of substances has grown to over 900 and in 2016 revisions were adopted regarding new labeling that go into effect on August 30th, 2018. Additionally, Prop 65 outlines labeling responsibilities on the entire supply chain, from manufacturer to distributor, to ensure that product meets Prop 65 guidelines.
As a manufacturer of industrial hydraulic and pneumatic valves, Deltrol Fluid Products does not recommend nor actively market its components for consumer-based applications. Deltrol’s products are targeted for industrial applications. With the recent changes to Prop 65, Deltrol has reviewed how best to address the latest Prop 65 guidelines, including but not limited to, dealing with unintended use and resale of our products into the state of California.

Deltrol’s products remain the same. In order to comply with Prop 65, Deltrol is now adding Prop 65 warnings to the individual packaging for all valves, regardless of their materials of construction. In the upcoming weeks, valve bags used to protect our product will include labels or direct print with the official Prop 65 warning. We are providing the Prop 65 warnings to comply with California’s Prop 65 legislation to inform the public that the products contain chemicals on the State of California’s Prop 65 list. The warnings do not mean that the products are unsafe.
Deltrol products are sold globally. In the United States, Deltrol is sold directly to OEMs and through a network of authorized industrial supply distributors. We believe our universal approach of adding the warning to all our bags will provide the most effective way of addressing the Prop 65 requirements. There is considerable complexity in determining which products will be ultimately sold or brought into California. Therefore, to ensure compliance with Proposition 65 requirements, we have decided to include these labels on all products, regardless of where they might be purchased or sold.
Should you unpack or repackage our product, or use it in a value-added assembly or installation, we recommend you take the necessary steps to ensure proper labeling for products that you sell into the state of California in accordance with Proposition 65.
